Zabbix Monitoring Printer

Note: the printer is the most frequently used equipment in the office, such as our company, changing the toner cartridge once a day is simply eating ink, and every time a colleague calls to tell us that there is no ink, and then someone on our side will change it. Compare and affect work efficiency. Accidentally found that the company printer also supports the SNMP protocol, so specially tried the results can be monitored and early warning. It is also part of the automation of the intranet.

Description: this article takes our company Hewlett-Packard printing as an example to demonstrate.

Demo environment:

Centos 6.5 > zabbix server 2.4

Printer > > HP LaserJet Professional M1213nf MFP

HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128fn

After configuring the ip address, the general network printer can log in to the basic management page on the web side through the configured ip and remote web browsing.

As shown in the figure: we log in to m128fn and set up this printer-> Network-> SNMP--- > enable SNMP read and write access

Check the usage of the remaining toner through the command: 100%

Watching the web end.

At the same time, we can also know the model of the toner cartridge used in this printer (note: the model in the picture below is exactly consistent with the model in the picture above)
