WhatWeb is a pre-installed Web scanning tool for Kali Linux. It is written in Ruby language. The tool can scan the website to get all kinds of information about the website, such as CMS, blog platform, statistics / analysis components, Javascript library, Web server and so on. WhatWeb provides more than 1000 plug-ins to obtain information about all aspects of the site, including version number, email address, account ID, and so on. In order to facilitate user scanning, the tool provides different levels of scanning strategies, such as covert scanning, intrusion scanning, heavy scanning, for different application scenarios.
