Oracle debugging tool oerr
Oralce comes with a lot of toolsets, of which the oerr command is a good auxiliary tool that can help DBA quickly locate the cause of the problem and give a reasonable solution. We don't need to remember what ORA errors are at all, unless those errors are completely inseparable from your work.
The oerr tool is installed automatically with the Oracle software on the Linux/UNIX platform. The oerr tool can locate ora, imp, nid, rman, and tns errors in Oracle. The usage is as follows:
Oerr error type error number
For example, check an ora error:
[root@www ~] # oerr ora 01034
View a tns error:
[root@www ~] # oerr tns 12514
