T60P 15-inch high resolution (1600x1200) independent professional graphics card ATI FireGL V5200

Under Ubuntu, the GPU has such a fever that it can have a barbecue in the air outlet, and it is almost possible to burn on the leg.

I want to reduce the frequency of gpu. After google, we found the following ways.

First of all, su is root (root permission is required for the following operations)

Sudo su

And then execute

Echo mid > / sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile

I wanted to use low to run at a lower frequency, but it turned out to be blurred, and finally changed to mid.

View the result

Mount none / sys/kernel/debug/-t debugfscat / sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/radeon_pm_info

The following results are displayed (GPU running at half speed)

Default engine clock: 400000 kHzcurrent engine clock: 209250 kHzdefault memory clock: 330000 kHzcurrent memory clock: 135000 kHzPCIE lanes: 1

After a few minutes, the temperature in the GPU area decreased significantly. The temperature of the air outlet has also decreased a lot.

This operation is performed automatically when the system is turned on.

Vi / etc/rc.local

Add the following code:

Echo mid > / sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile

Finish the job.
