CSR is the abbreviation of Cerificate Signing Request, that is, the certificate request file. If we want to prove that our website is trusted and that the data transmission is encrypted, we need a certificate issued by a third-party CA organization, such as Symantec,GeoTrust and so on.

To apply for such a certificate, our first step is to generate our own CSR file.

CSR needs to be generated by the applicant with the help of relevant tools such as domain name, company name, department, province, city and country. The tool will also generate the certificate request file and the private key file, in which the certificate request file is the CSR file. These two files match each other. We submit the CSR file to CA to apply for the certificate. After the identity of the applicant is verified by CA, the certificate public key is issued. After the applicant receives the certificate file, convert the certificate public key file together with the private key file into the file corresponding to the server and deploy it on the HTTP server, so that our website can be trusted.
