Go is a traditional board game in Asia, with simple rules but abnormal brain-burning. Both sides hold black and white, play chess alternately, and win by those with more encirclement. There are a large number of enthusiasts in East Asia and even all over the world. South Korean cable station K-Baduk, which specializes in the production of go tournaments and related programs, recently introduced Infortrend's EonStor GS to build its own media bank.

Challenges

Previously, K-Baduk had to manually copy media files to the 20 x 2TB HDD every time, one handcuff a month, how much labor it takes, and how many shelves and boxes the hard disk occupies. In addition, this original copy and preservation method can easily lead to duplication and loss of data, and it is also time-consuming and laborious to retrieve, which is a great headache.

Solution

With the introduction of EonStor GS unified storage, K-Baduk can simplify the workflow and save the retrieval data more easily. By doing RAID 6 and the built-in WORM (write-once read-many) function, K-Bakduk greatly reduces the risk of data loss.

Why choose EonStor GS?

As a unified storage, EonStor GS has excellent bandwidth () and data protection features, which is sufficient for backup. Compact positioning design reduces the actual footprint required for installation, as well as energy consumption. More importantly, GS can connect to a variety of expansion cabinets, supporting up to 1792 hard drives, with a total capacity exceeding 20PB, which is more than enough for media asset management users.

User evaluation

Infortrend's GS unified storage saves a lot of time and space, and greatly reduces our workload.
