Linux Virtual Machine Installation

Tools and software versions used:

Windows: Win10 Home Edition (Professional Edition recommended)

VirtualBox v6.0

Linux version: CentOS 7

Installation steps:

(1)Open VirtualBox and click New

(2)Click Expert Mode Install, click Create after completing options

(3)File size up to 50 gigabytes (enough), other defaults, click Create

(4)At this point, a shell virtual machine is generated, and then internal configuration is performed.

(The following space has been allocated)

-----Select and right-click, click Settings

(5)Modify the following points in the settings, and keep the default settings for others:

---a---System → Motherboard: Floppy drive does not need to be installed, drive and hard disk in advance

---b--System → Processor: 4 processors (give about half)

---c---Storage: Click the first one in the upper right corner of the controller to add an optical drive

Click Register to find the prepared mirror file (find a bunch of messages on the Internet)

After the addition is completed, click Select to OK

---d--Network: configure two network cards (to be used later)

NIC 1: Host only mode

Network Address Translation (NAT)

(6)Here you can right-click to start the installation.

(7)Arrow up, select install CentOS Linux 7, click Enter, and wait

Select English (recommended, English is stable, Chinese is prone to garbled code)

(8)Enter the settings interface

---a---software selection: We use minimal installation, i.e. black interface

---b--installation destination: Select our own allocated memory space and click Done

---c--nerwork and host name: Turn on two network cards

When you are finished, click Begin Installation.

(9)Enter the installation interface and set the root password (remember this password)

Then it was waiting again...

Installation complete, click Reboot

Enter Enter

This interface appears to indicate that the installation is complete. Enter the user name root and the password you just set to log in.

(We are currently logged in with the highest privileges of root, and then we need to create a new user to avoid mishandling and causing the virtual machine to crash)
