Delete material cost estimate

Use

When you specify specific conditions, you can delete costing results that are no longer needed from the database. This feature is called reorganization.

Premise

Only unlocked cost estimates can be deleted.

Standard cost estimates are used to determine the standard price for material evaluation. The laws of some countries require that cost estimates used to calculate standard prices be archived for reference. Therefore, you should investigate whether there is a legal requirement to file standard cost estimates. In addition, it is recommended that you contact the accounting department and inventory management department before deleting the cost estimate.

If you delete the current standard cost estimate, the field of the current standard cost estimate in the material master record (cost accounting detail) is reset to zero. If the material ledger is used, the standard price in the master data of the material ledger is deleted when the standard cost estimate is deleted. After that, the current standard price based on the standard cost estimate will no longer be included in the master record of the material.

Result

When you delete the material cost estimate, the following data is deleted:

● basic costing data

● cost composition decomposition

● section

● log

In test run mode, a list of cost estimates that can be deleted is displayed.

In reorganization mode, the system sends a message detailing the number of cost estimates that have been deleted.
