How do I set the Oracle database to archive mode?
Is the archiving mode really that important?
For the Oracle database, must be set to archive mode, especially the production database, the only way to achieve effective full recovery of the database, for security, keep in mind.
This is dangerous for some databases that may be in non-archive mode after they have just been installed. So how on earth is it set to archive mode? Next, Brother Kang will show you how to set the database to archive mode:
① to view the current archive mode of the database
Log in to the database as sys user and enter select log_mode from vault database, as shown in the following figure:
Next, check the automatic archiving status and archiving process, as shown in the following figure: (automatic archiving mode is changed to enable)
Obviously, there is no automatic archiving, no archiving process, let alone archiving mode.
What shall I do? Of course, it is to hit the magic command to set it!
② shuts down the database and starts to mount state
Note: it doesn't matter if you ignore the error report in the middle. That's because I modified a log_archive_start parameter. In fact, this parameter needs to be modified only in the previous version of oracle10g. I misoperated it.
③ changes the database to archive mode
At this point, the database has been set to archive mode!
GAME OVER!
