1. The purpose of cache is that when the network layer address of the device is resolved to the data link layer address, the mapping relationship between them is recorded in the memory of the device for a period of time. The next time the layer 2 address of the device is needed, a quick lookup is made in the cache.
2. Other improvements:
A, cross resolution: when device 1 parses the address of device 2, device 2 also adds a table entry to device 1 in his cache.
B, when device 1 broadcasts a frame to other devices, it not only allows the corresponding devices to see it, but also allows other devices to see it and let them update their cache entries according to the parsed information.
