This article introduces you how to use SPNEGO to configure authentication, the content is very detailed, interested friends can refer to, hope to be helpful to you.

Cloudera Manager 6.3 and later supports Kerberos authentication using Admin Console and API of SPNEGO. It is important to enable Kerberos (SPNEGO) authentication for the Cloudera Manager management console and API, you must first Kerberos. When SPNEGO is enabled, Swagger-based Java and Python SDK, as well as older Java SDK, can still use HTTP basic authentication for authentication. The old version of Python SDK has been deprecated. If you rely on a deprecated Python client for any action, do not enable SPNEGO.

1) if you have not already done so, enable Kerberos for the cluster service.

2) navigate to Administration > Settings.

3) enter SPNEGO in the search field.

4) Select the enable SPNEGO / Kerberos authentication for administrative console and API check box. Leave the other SPNEGO settings blank to allow Cloudera Manager to automatically generate Principal and Keytab.

5) Click Save changes.

6) restart Cloudera Manager Server.
