­Today, in addition to Red Hat's announcement of the fourth maintenance release of the RHEL 7 operating system, Oracle is also pleased to announce the Oracle Linux 7 Update 4 update. Oracle Linux 7 comes with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) and Red Hat Compatible Kernel (RHCK), Oracle Linux 7.4 adds a variety of improvements and new features, promises to significantly improve the security and performance of the system, and optimizes the desktop environment based on cloud technology and containers.

­Oracle Linux version 7.4 supports booting from UEFI Secure Boot systems, supports upgraded OpenSSH components of the SHA-2 algorithm, and adds a new NBDE security package and a USBGuard framework to resist USB attacks.
