OneDrive network applications will soon be modified by Fluent Design design
In addition to the redesigned icon set for Microsoft's core Office 365 and other applications, the tech giant also provides Fluent Design design modifications for OneDrive web applications. The company is improving the color palette to match the design of other applications to provide users with a familiar experience of a variety of online services. For OneDrive, this means changing the black navigation bar to blue and swapping dim gray folders with brighter yellow folders.
of course, design consistency is not an issue that the OneDrive team has been working on, and they have added the ability to recommend files that, as users may have guessed, recommend the files it thinks users are most likely to open based on their usage habits. The company has also added a Recent files (recent files) feature that makes it easier for users to access files in addition to recommending files.
Microsoft is also adding features to provide users with more information about their files before they open them. One of them includes a new file card that allows users to access quick information about the document, including the time it takes to read, and the key information in it. In addition, users can view recent document activities, which will be in the rightmost column when viewing files in the list view.
finally, in addition to Windows and Mac users' applications, Microsoft is making file metadata accessible to users from OneDrive shared libraries on the network. The company said the changes would gradually work on users in the coming weeks, adding that further testing was needed before a full launch.
