Ubuntu 17.10 will be loaded with GNOME 3.26.1 when it enters the final stage.
Ubuntu contributor Didier Roche shared the latest developments in Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) in the community today. First, GNOME Stack used GNOME 3.26.1 after a major upgrade, fixed a large number of BUG and made changes to make the GNOME 3.26 desktop environment more reliable, mature, and secure. After its official release on October 19th, it will be upgraded to GNOME 3.26.2.
Roche said: "in the process of migrating to GNOME Shell, we continue to follow and integrate GNOME's desktop experience, and constantly abandon our previous stale content." In Ubuntu 17.10, the Ubuntu Desktop team worked tirelessly to bring the GNOME desktop environment close to the previous Unity desktop.
