How does Python pandas calculate the growth rate and cumulative growth rate per line

Editor to share with you how Python pandas calculates the growth rate and cumulative growth rate of each line. I hope you will gain something after reading this article. Let's discuss it together.

Read data:

FacebookDf=pd.read_excel (ringing D:\ jupyter\ Untitled Folder\ Facebook 2017 stock data .xlsx', index_col='Date') FacebookDf.tail ()

Calculate the percentage of growth of the current row over the previous line (the growth rate of each row)

# .pct _ change () returns the percentage of change, and the first line returns Nan because there is nothing to compare. Fill in apply (lambda x: format (x,'. 2%')) to convert the decimal point to the percentage FacebookDf ['pct_change'] = FacebookDf [' Close']. Pct_change (1) .fillna (0) .apply (lambda x: format (x,'. 2%')) FacebookDf ['pct_change'] .head ()

Calculate the percentage of growth of the current row over the first row (cumulative percentage)

Close1=FacebookDf.loc ['2017-01-03] # apply (lambda x: (x-Close1) / Close1) calculates the cumulative growth rate # apply (lambda x: format (x,'. 2%') converts the decimal point to a percentage FacebookDf ['sum_pct_change'] = FacebookDf [' Close'] .apply (lambda x: (x-Close1) / Close1) .apply (lambda x: format (x,'.2%') FacebookDf ['sum_pct_change'] .head ()
