The KDE team today officially announced the release of the KDE Plasma 5.11 desktop environment for the GNU/Linux distribution, focusing on enhancements to some of the core components and introducing some new features. The desktop environment version took months of development and a Beta version was available in mid-September, allowing early adapters to try it out.

The most noteworthy aspect of KDE Plasma 5.11 is the introduction of the privacy protection tool-Plasma Vault for the first time, which promises to encrypt most of users' private documents and folders, providing comprehensive security protection for both home and corporate offices.

in a previous statement, wrote: "for users who often deal with sensitive, confidential and private information, the new Plasma Vault provides robust encryption in a very friendly way. This feature allows locking and encrypting a series of documents and preventing them from being snooped."
