Mozilla Firefox 60 ESR Open download (GNU/Linux, Windows and macOS)
Although the official announcement date of Mozilla Firefox 60 stable version is shown to be available tomorrow, you can already download this ESR (Extended Support Release) version from Mozilla's FTP server.
GNU/Linux, Windows and macOS platforms are already available on FTP official servers, and the most noteworthy new feature is enhanced camera privacy protection. Firefox automatically turns off the computer's webcam when the user's face does not appear on the site recording. Although the webcam is still available, it ensures that these sites do not record you. The camera will continue to work again when you come back to recover. When some weird websites privately call the camera and don't turn on the lights on the camera, Firefox forces the camera lights on to remind users to make sure the device is still recording.
to improve login security, Firefox 60 will also support web authorization, allowing users to use USB tokens to authenticate their favorite sites. In addition, Firefox 60 enables IT administrators to customize Firefox deployments in an enterprise environment through a new policy engine.
In Firefox 60, Mozilla also adds some new developer features, including the promised IndexedDB exchange, and explicit control over whether a web page should be reloaded, which has been deployed through Responsive Design Mode.
Firefox 60 will be the next ESR (extended support version) branch of Mozilla, replacing the current Firefox 52 ESR series, which means that this version will discard older add-ons. Firefox 52 ESR will be discontinued on August 28th, 2018.
