What are the types of proxy servers
What are the types of proxy servers, many novices are not very clear about this, in order to help you solve this problem, the following editor will explain for you in detail, people with this need can come to learn, I hope you can gain something.
Proxy server (ProxyServer) as an important function of server security, its work is mainly focused on the session layer of the open systems interconnection (OSI) model, thus becoming a firewall. The proxy server is mainly used to connect INTERNET (International Internet) and LocalAreaNetwork (Local area Network).
In use, there are many types of proxy servers, which can be divided into the following six basic types:
1. HTTP proxy: you can proxy the client's HTTP access, mainly through the proxy browser to access the web page.
2. FTP agent: the FTP server can be accessed by the client agent FTP software.
RTSP proxy: Realplayer on the proxy client accesses the Real streaming server.
POP3 agent: the mail software of the agent client receives mail in POP3 mode.
SOCKS agent. SOCKS proxy is different from other types of proxies, SOCKS proxies just deliver a packet, regardless of which application protocol, SOCKS proxy servers can also be HTTP requests, so SOCKS proxy servers are much faster than other types of agents. SOCKS agent is divided into SOCKS4 and SOCKS5. The difference between the two is that SOCKS4 agent only supports TCP (transmission control protocol), SOCKS5 agent supports both TCP and UDP (user packet protocol), and also supports a variety of authentication mechanisms, server-side domain name resolution and so on. SOCKS5 can provide SOCKS5, but SOCKS that SOCKS5 can do may not be possible. For example, QQ, our commonly used chat tool on QQ, requires a SOCKS5 proxy when using a proxy, because it needs to use the UDP protocol to transmit data.
