Introduction

In the field of SAP HANA application development, we usually use package to store models such as modeler views and XS engineering. These packages should be deployed to the final production server.

Delivery Unit is the deployment of SAP HANA native development objects, which can be seen as a collection of packages for unified management of Transportation management.

SAP HANA provides a unified management platform called HANA Application Lifecycle Management to manage Delivery Unit.

Only users with permission "sap.hana.xs.lm.roles:: Administrator" can manipulate Delivery Unit.

Here are two ways to manipulate Delivery Unit.

SAP HANA Studio

Select Transport Management from the right-click menu:

Use url directly with the following naming conventions:

Http://:80/sap/hana/xs/lm/index.html

What can we do with HANA Application Lifecycle Management?

Import / export / create Delivery unit, search package.

The first time we use HANA Application Lifecycle Management, we must provide a Vendor ID.

The creation page of Delivery Unit:

In SAP HANA SP07, after HANA is installed, the system automatically creates some delivery unit under PRODUCTS- > Delivery Units. We can add, delete or change Delivery Unit in it.

The creation of the Delivery Unit itself is simple:

Assign the package to this Delivery Unit:

Delivery Unit and the packages it contains can be exported to .tgz files from the menu below:

When you import Delivery Unit, the packages it contains are created on the HANA instance:

SAP HANA Studio provides the management console of DU. Switch to the modeler view and select Delivery Unit under Setup to enter the console:

Create a DU and assign a package to it:

Import / export DU:
