The first candidate release of Linux Kernel 4.19 brings a lot of improvements.

Linus Torvalds said that although the development of the 4.19 kernel has just begun, it will indeed become a sizeable version, but the scale of the update will not exceed previous records. The most important reason for the larger update of the branch is the L1 Terminal Fault (L1TF), which is the Foreshadow vulnerability.

­Linux Kernel 4.19 brings a number of improvements, including driver upgrades, graphics and networking improvements, architecture updates, core kernel and network improvements, updated file systems, and documentation and tool updates. The official version is expected to be released in mid-October 2018 (14th / 21), depending on how many candidate versions the branch will have, which can only be decided by Linus Torvalds.
