New traffic record! Trump's inauguration ceremony
A new record for live streaming traffic: Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2017
On January 20, 2017, this day not only represented the inauguration of a new US president, but also set an amazing new Internet record. Akamai-supported inauguration live video traffic peaked at 8.7Tbps! This is the highest live video recording of a single major event in the history of Akamai. It didn't take long for the last record to be maintained and broken, and it was also created by Trump: a peak of 7.5T on election night on November 8, 2016.
