There is no need to click the security deletion in the lower right corner of the desktop: Win10 can directly unplug the U disk.

Presumably some old PC birds still keep the habit of quitting USB devices and clicking "pop-up xxx" in the lower right corner to safely delete the hardware. In fact, this comes from the ancient popular science text, that is, "prevent the U disk from being occupied by reading and writing tasks, and pull it out at will will lose data."

However, over the years, Microsoft itself has found the above operation cumbersome, so it has made adjustments.

In Windows 10 v1809, the default policy when a USB device is plugged in is "Quick Delete", which disables write caching on the device and Windows, thus eliminating the need to click the "secure remove hardware" notification icon to disconnect.

Previously, Windows mainly pushed for "better performance", that is, enabling write caching, and blindly disconnecting the physical connection of the device may cause incomplete cache data and affect data completeness.

Of course, Microsoft did not disclose how much difference between "quick deletion" and "better performance" will lead to read and write speed. However, official user data show that most people still prefer to unplug the flash drive directly.
