Group Policy deployment Bginfo

Many years ago, when I was an administrator in the company, I used group policy to deploy Bginfo.

Now I have changed my work unit several times, and I almost forgot this tool.

Unexpectedly, I have been relatively lazy recently. I don't want to run around to deal with client problems. I always want to use remote tools to handle exceptions for users.

But helpless users always can not look at the IP address, can not look at the computer name, I just remember that I have used this tool.

So write this article in order to record or give some reference to friends who have the same needs.

Second, set the display content and effect

Extract it to a folder and open it. The default display is as follows:

We can see that the function is still very powerful, and there are still a lot of things that can be displayed.

In fact, I only need to use a few of them in my environment, so delete what I don't need (left mouse button is selected):

In the end, I only retained the following four items:

Leave everything else by default, and then click "file-save as" to save the configuration to the same folder as the program.

* the extension defaults to .bgi, so just enter the file name, which I enter here is tek.

3. Copy the entire Bginfo folder to the NETLOGON of the domain control. The specific path is as follows

* A reminder here that if you put it under this path, there is no need to adjust the permissions. Default domain users have access rights.

Create a new group policy and apply it

1. Open GPMC and create a new policy named Bginfo, as follows:

two。 Create a new text and write the following: save as Bgingo.bat (suffix .cmd is also possible)

* Note that dc2 is the name of the pre-control where I just stored the Bginfo folder.

3. Edit the newly created Bginfo policy, and click "user configuration"-> "windows Settings"-> "script"-> "Log in"-> "display File"

Copy the Bginfo.bat to this folder in the open window. Then close the window.

4. Click add-Browse, select the bat file you just placed, and click ok. As follows:

5. Click OK to close the window.

6. Select user OU and apply the group policy just now

At this point, after setting up, after a period of time, the client computer can log back in and apply the previous strategy. If you want the strategy to take effect, you can enter the following command at the command prompt and log out again according to the prompt.
