Due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus COVID-19, Microsoft announced today that they will extend the scheduled technical service termination date for Windows 10 version 1709. This date change applies to Windows 10 Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise.

It House was informed that with this change, monthly security update support for Windows 10 version 1709 will be extended to October 13, 2020, which had been planned to expire on April 14, 2020. Furthermore, all supported versions of Microsoft configuration Manager will continue to support Windows 10 version 1709 until October 13, 2020.

Microsoft said

"We have been assessing the public health situation, and we understand the impact on you, our valued customers. In order to alleviate one of the many burdens you are currently facing, and based on customer feedback, we have decided to postpone the scheduled service termination date."
