SFB project experience-77-Exchange 2010 coexists with 2016, Outlook 2010 switchover successful 2013 unsuccessful

Enterprise environment:

1) AD domain

Domain: Contoso.com

2) Exchange 2010 CU23

Mail domain: abc.com

3) Exchanee 2016 CU11

Mail domain: abc.com

4) Outlook 2010 SP2

5) Outlook 2013 SP1

Question: (lasts about 1 week)

1) Outlook 2010 connects to Exchange 2010

2) Outlook 2013 connects to Exchange 2010

3) Exchange 2010 users migrate to 2016

4) Outlook 2010 connection Exchange 2016 (normal) prompt change, reopen, send and receive email normally.

5) Outlook 2013 connection Exchange 2016 (normal) prompt change, reopen, send and receive email normally.

Recommendations:

1) it is recommended to upgrade Outlook 2013 version to be consistent with the customer site

2) Test whether Outlook 2013 can connect to Exchange 2016

3) if not

4) it is recommended to upgrade Exchnage 2016 CU11 to CU12

5) Test Outlook 2013 cannot connect to Exchange 2016

6) if not

7) it is recommended that the test environment deploy Exchange 2016 CU10 (because the coexistence of Guangzhou project Exchange 2010 and 2016 CU10 does not see this problem)

8) it is recommended to deploy Exchange 2016 CU10 in the production environment (because the coexistence of Exchange 2010 and 2016 CU10 in Guangzhou project does not see this problem)

Solution:

1) upgrade Office 2013

POC: Office 2013 15.0.4569.1503

Production: Office 2013 15.0.4569.1506

2) upgrade the test environment from 1503 to 1506

3) reopen Outlook 2013 to connect to Exchange 2016 normally.
