LVM logical volumes and disk quotas

Shulou Source: shulou.com Published: 2022-06-03 09:31:24 10月03日 Update

Experimental environment: Centos7.6 version system (three hard drives)

Experimental demand

1: create LVM logic volume (40G) and expand its capacity to 50G

2: set disk quota for tom users and verify

3: set the disk quota to the finance group (finance) and be smaller than the space allocated by tom users, and finally verify that the group quota takes effect.

Experimental process

1: create LVM logic volume

1: add a new disk and partition to check the partition situation

2: make each partition into a physical volume and synthesize a volume group

3: allocate the space of the volume group to make LVM logical volume and expand its capacity.

4: format and mount logical volumes

2: disk quota and verification

1: create the tom user and set the password

2: re-mount the logical volume under / tom and write in the mount configuration

3: set write data permissions for all users

4: edit the quota settings for tom users and view

5: verify whether the quota is in effect

6: create a financial group, add tom users to the group and view

7: edit the quota settings for the finance group and view (the space allocated is smaller than that of tom)

8: verify whether the group quota is in effect

Summary: disk quotas with small allocation of space and number of files will take effect.
