Modify Window Server2012 remote Desktop Port

Generally speaking, the Windows remote Desktop port is 3389. To consider the security risks, the default port must be modified. Here is how to modify it:

1, remote login server select "Windows PowerShell" in the system desktop, in the pop-up system operation box, enter the command "regedit", press "enter" to confirm, and bring up the registry editor.

2. In the registry editing interface that opens, expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Terminal Server\ Wds\ rdpwd\ Tds\ tcp subkeys.

3, double-click to open the "PortNumber" on the right, select "decimal", change the numerical data to "13579", and then click OK.

4, after modifying the remote port, you also need to set up and release the modified port in the firewall, click "Server Manager" on the desktop, and click "tools" in the open window to select "Advanced Security Windows Firewall".

5. Select "inbound Rule" on the left in the Advanced Security Widows Firewall window, then click "New Rule" on the right, select "Port" when creating the rule, and click next.

6. Enter the modified remote port 13579 after "specific local port", and then click "next" all the time.

7. Fill in the rule name and remarks in the last step to facilitate future review, and click finish.

After modifying the remote port and releasing it in the firewall, you also need to restart the remote desktop service so that the remote desktop service uses the new port. Click tools in the server manager and select Services.

9. Find the "Remote Desktop Service" service on the service management page, and then click "restart" on the left to restart the remote desktop service.

10. After clicking restart, the remote desktop will be disconnected, and you can log in to the server remotely using the modified port.
