Red Hat today launched the official version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.6 after announcing its acquisition by technology giant IBM. RHEL 7.6 focuses on improving overall security performance, especially adding two new security layers to meet current cloud environment security standards, providing security for information and data stored on disk in hybrid cloud operations.

RHEL 7.6 also introduces the TPM (trusted platform Module) 2.0 hardware module, which further enhances the network-bound disk encryption (NBDE) function and provides enhanced security across network environments. "IT security is still a challenge relay race for many IT departments," said Red Hat. "and it is not easy to complete the challenge in complex hybrid and cloudy environments. To better meet these IT security requirements, RHEL 7.6 introduced TPM 2.0 hardware modules into NBDE."
