DELL iDRAC server remote control settings

IDRAC

IDRAC, also known as Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller, is an integrated Dell remote control card, which is a unique function of Dell server. IDrac card is equivalent to a computer attached to the server, which can realize one-to-one server remote management and monitoring. It communicates with the management chip BMC on the server motherboard to monitor and manage the hardware status information of the server. It has its own system and IP address, regardless of the OS on the server.

Set up

In general, the iDRAC function is turned off by default, and we need to enable it in BIOS.

First, let's restart the computer, then go to BIOS and select iDRAC Setting.

After entering the iDRAC Setting, we see a lot of detailed settings, in general, we just need to set up the network Network.

After setting the network parameters of iDRAC, we can use iDRAC to remotely control and maintain the remote server.

Then there is iDRAC's login interface, and we enter the default user name "root" and the default password "calvin" to log in.
