SharePoint 2016 feature comparison
There are many features in SharePoint 2016. When we often talk to customers about SharePoint installation, I ask them if they plan to install SharePoint Server 2016 Standard or Enterprise. Usually, the answer is "what's the difference?" Let's take a look at the function comparison table. It's basically the same information that Microsoft provides on its website or Excel spreadsheet, and I sort it out for others to read. My advice is to always install SharePoint Server Enterprise Edition unless customers do not benefit from all the features in the Enterprise Edition or are costly. Customers decide to use the enterprise version about 95% of the time, because all the cool features are in the enterprise version of most server software, which is why it costs more.
The following features are available in SharePoint Server 2016 Standard Edition and SharePoint Server 2016 Enterprise Edition. These features are listed in the Excel spreadsheet provided by Microsoft. Keep in mind, however, that Microsoft may move this file to another location without redirecting it. It is worth noting that Microsoft may update the information in this Excel file in the future.
