The thin client used in the office uses the spice protocol connection. Today, we will use the removable hard drive (Seagate) to copy something and record the configuration process.

Using the USB port of a thin client requires a few simple steps. The first step is to add the spice port of usb to the hardware devices of the virtual machine on the pve management interface, and then shut down the virtual machine (note that the restart is not possible, be sure to shut down) to make the configuration effective. Then install the UsbDk software in the virtual machine (the version I installed is UsbDk_1.0.19_x64) and download it at:

When the virtual machine is turned off and enters the system after startup, you can find the removable hard disk plugged into the USB port by the thin client, as shown below:

Thin clients can also choose to connect using the RDP protocol, which is simpler.

Personally, it is recommended that if you want to use the USB port of the thin client, you should still use the RDP protocol, because in my environment, using the spice protocol desktop, when copying large files, you will always automatically disconnect at the end.
