Install and configure DNS service under Windows Server2016

Part I: environment and advance work

One: windows server2016 operating system

Two: a windows ordinary computer, take win7 as an example (for testing)

Three: server IP address: for example, 192.168.80.30

Server 2016 is in the same local area network and the same network segment as the win7 computer

Five: turn off the firewall (both the server and the computers in the local area network are off)

Part two: create DNS and configure

One: create a DNS server

1. Service Manager, manage, add roles and functions, next step

Default next step, select DNS, type √, next step, install, and close after completion

Installation succeeded, as shown in the figure:

Two: configure DNS

Open the start menu, open windows Management tools, and open DNS

Set up forward lookups (resolve domain names to IP addresses)

(1) right-click "forward search area", create a new zone, default "main zone", and next

(2) region name (enter domain name, for example: .com), and next step

(3) default to the next step until completed, as shown in the figure:

(3) Select ".com" and right-click in the space on the right.

Create a new host (A _ address or AAAA). Enter the name: www

IP address: 192.168.80.30 (here is the server address pointed to by the domain name)

(5) add the host and complete it. At this time, the DNS server is looking for the DNS of the win7 computer that has been built. (point to the server IP address: 192.168.80.30)

(1) if DNS has been set in the DHCP service in the server, make the following changes:

Scope option, change DNS to server IP address: 192.168.80.30

(2) if there is no DHCP setting, change the DNS item in the IP address on the win7 computer to

Server address: 192.168.80.30

3. Test with win7 computer

Set up reverse lookup (resolve IP address to domain name)

(1) right-click "reverse Lookup Zone" to create a new zone. By default, enter the network segment until the next step is completed.

(2) Select the reverse domain name, right-click in the space on the right, and create a new pointer (PTR).

Enter the IP address (server domain name), host name (forward domain name), and make sure

Test on Win7 computer:

Command: nslookup 192.168.80.30/www..com

Test that both forward and reverse IP addresses and domain names can be used
