Problem description

By default, the computer after adding the domain will be saved in the Computers directory in AD. If I want to save the computer after adding domain to my custom organizational unit (OU) by default, can I? Because the biggest advantage of OU is not only that the container can prevent all kinds of objects, such as computers, users, etc., but most importantly, it can be used as a group policy.

Analysis of problems

We create a new organizational unit (OU) in AD, then change the default settings and redirect the save location to the new organizational unit (OU) at the command line.

Solution method

1. Create a new OU:pushits.com-New-Organizatioal Unit:

Enter the OU name as ClientPCs:

The OU was created successfully:

two。 Run the redirect command from the command line.

Run from the command line: redricmp ou=ClientPCs,dc=pushits,dc=com

Note: there is a space in the pushits.com,redricmp ou of my domain name)

3. The redirection result is confirmed.

After adding the client computer to the domain, refresh: Active Directory Users and Computers-pushits.com-Refresh:

Click ClientPCs OU to display the computers in the newly added domain:
