By default, users must authenticate when accessing shared files in a file server. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to set up a public shared folder that allows all people to access it anonymously without authentication.

To achieve anonymous access, the guest user account must be enabled and group policy must be set.

The steps are as follows:

1. Create a shared folder publice that allows Everyone to have read permissions.

3. Modify the group policy to change the default setting that must be authenticated when accessing file shares on the 2008R2 system.

4. In the client access test, shares on the file server can be accessed directly without any authentication.

You should still pay attention to the permission settings when accessing anonymously. for those shares that do not have permission assigned by guest users, anonymous users do not have the right to access.
