Weeks after being delayed due to the bug of some interceptors, Mesa 19.1 has been released as a quarterly update to the open source multi-vendor graphics driver stack, Mesa 19.1 is a large-scale update that includes several new drivers, performance optimizations, more mature support for existing Vulkan drivers, and other changes.

The most noteworthy is the experimental Gallium3D implementation for Intel Broadwell graphics and newer versions (there is currently no default implementation, and we hope to implement the default OpenGL driver by the end of the year). It was very exciting and eventually succeeded in shipping BDW/Gen8+ hardware for their classic i965 Mesa driver and looking forward to the Icelake system.

Mesa 19.1 also brings a new Lima driver for the Mali 400 Compact 450 graphics card, with basic OpenGL and a Panfrost Gallium3D driver for Arm Mali Bifrost/Midgard architecture. There is also a new "TURNIP" Vulkan implementation for Qualcomm hardware.

RADV FreeSync support is another important AMDVLK Vulkan driver, and Mesa 19.0 already provides FreeSync support for RadeonSI OpenGL drivers.

People who build stable versions from source code can find the release tarball by posting announcements. Mesa 19.2 should also be the next feature update at the end of August or early September.
