Today, we need to install the XP system to the virtual machine to do the experiment. First of all, we downloaded the ISO image and found that most of the ISO images on the Internet are GHOST version, not the original installation version. The following problems are encountered:

1. Load the ISO image, and the error message A:\ ghosterr.txt during installation is as follows:

This error is due to the fact that VMware does not partition the disk of the virtual machine beforehand, so there is no primary boot MBR, so GHOST cannot be installed. Then it is necessary to establish MBR; on the virtual machine disk first, but there are problems in the actual operation: if the virtual machine loads ISO for the first time, instead of directly installing the system, it starts DiskGinus to partition, and after establishing the MBR operation, the virtual machine will not load ISO actively the second time, directly from the virtual machine hard disk, and the system has not yet been installed, of course, it cannot enter the system.

Later, I tried to start WINPE in virtual environment (make an ISO image of WINPE through the flash drive production tool (computer store), enter WINPE to partition the virtual machine disk to establish MBR operation, and then install the Ghost system directly under WINPE without restarting the virtual machine. It seems that there will be an error after the installation is complete. In fact, it was later found that there was no Windows boot. After repairing with the winpe tool, restart the virtual machine and install it successfully!
