Considerations for VMware vSAN6.7 license-- We have hardware and software
When preparing the cluster for vSAN, review the requirements for the vSAN license.
1. Ensure that you have obtained a valid license to achieve complete host configuration control in the cluster. The license should be different from the license used for evaluation purposes.
After the license or evaluation period for vSAN expires, you can continue to use the current configuration of the vSAN resource. However, you cannot add capacity to a disk group or create a disk group.
two。 If the cluster contains an all-flash disk group, verify that the all-flash feature is available under your license.
3. If the vSAN cluster uses advanced features such as deduplication and compressing or extending the cluster, verify that this feature is available under your license.
4. When adding or removing hosts in a cluster, consider the CPU capacity of the vSAN license based on the entire cluster.
The capacity of the vSAN license is based on CPU capacity. When assigning vSAN licenses to a cluster, the license capacity used is equal to the total number of CPU of hosts that joined the cluster.
