Digital health provides a good set of tools to curb mobile addiction, and Google is launching a new Android 10 feature called Focus mode. You will be able to select applications that usually cause distractions, and enabling focus mode can effectively pause them throughout the activation of the mode. This means that you will not receive any notifications and will not be able to use these specific applications.

How does Android 10 enable Focus mode?

Focus mode is not for everyone, so you must use a digital health beta to get this feature. Register as a beta tester and follow these steps to enable the features in Android 10:

Open settings from the application drawer or home screen.

Scroll down to the digital health section.

Click "Digital Welfare and Parental Control".

Select focus mode.

Select the application you want to pause.

Click enable now to enable focus mode.

Focus mode is a great feature, but it's annoying to enter three levels in the phone settings at a time to enable it. Thankfully, you can set a block in the shadow of the notification. Here's how to do this:

Pull down the notification lampshade twice.

Select the pencil icon on the left.

Scroll down to find more slices.

And drag focus mode tile to the Quick Settings pane.

When focus mode is activated, the application you select will be grayed out. Any unread notifications will be cleared and you will not receive any new notifications during mode activation. It's a good way to get rid of distractions, and I can prove it.
