Windows 7 failed to update automatically, resulting in failure to enter the system solution

Failure phenomenon: restart the computer after automatic update, prompt:

(do not turn off the computer if you failed to configure Windows update to restore changes), and the computer stays in the interface if it does not respond for more than half an hour. At this point, stop waiting. The following measures can be taken to delete updated files and restore the system.

Solution:

1. Press the power key for a long time to shut down the computer and enter the PE system through the USB flash drive.

2. Go to the C:\ Windows\ SoftwareDistribution directory and delete all the files in the Download and DataStore folders. This is the default download directory for automatic updates.

3. Go to the C:\ Windows\ winsxs directory, find the reboot.xml file, and delete it.

4. After restarting, press F8 to enter the Advanced Startup menu and select "Last correct configuration (Advanced)"

At this moment, the computer will still maintain the configuration windows update failure interface, and then wait about 30 minutes to enter the system login interface normally.

5. After entering the system, switch users with administrative authority and turn off the automatic update of windows to prevent the same failure in the future.

Some computers will be grayed out when selecting the windows installation update method interface, indicating that some settings are managed by your system administrator and cannot be changed.

Solution:

Run: regedit enters the registry and finds the following key values

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Policies\ Microsoft\ Windows\ WindowsUpdate

In order not to destroy the registry, we first back up the registry key value WindowsUpdate. Right-click WindowsUpdate and select Export.

After completing the backup, we can delete the WindowsUpdate key, right-click and select "Delete".

Exit the registry, open the settings interface again, and you can choose.
