Apple is looking for software engineers to help the company build media applications for Windows. The iPhone maker unveiled its plans in a to-do list earlier this month, which was discovered by Neowin and invited potential candidates to "join us and build next-generation media applications for Windows".

Maintain Apple's existing Windows applications (such as iTunes, iCloud), but they are all old and traditional desktop applications that show aging. Earlier this year, Apple revealed that it split iTunes into three separate macOS apps: podcasts, TV and music. None of these apps reached Windows,PC, only iTunes. If you are an Apple Music or Apple TV Plus subscriber, you must use the network version immediately, not a dedicated application on Windows 10.

Apple's to-do list mentions that "having UWP experience is a big advantage", which means the company is looking to build a generic Windows platform (UWP) version of its media applications for Windows 10. This may help Apple introduce apps to Windows 10 and Xbox. One of them is particularly important for Apple TV Plus because the content of the service is currently not viewable on Xbox One.

It's not clear when these new media apps for Windows will arrive, but the fact that Apple is investing in Windows 10 is good news for owners of Surface or Windows tablet devices, who will benefit from new touch-friendly apps that benefit from Apple's services.
