Apple TV was nominated for the first award for "the Morning Show"
Although Apple TV was nominated for its first award less than two months after its launch, Apple may not want to show off its popularity. Billy Krupp (left), nominated by the Film critics Association for the Morning Show, won the award for best supporting actor in a TV series, which puts him on a par with Game of Thrones (AsIsBlack). It's not easy considering that competitors like Netflix have been nominated for the first award, but it's clear that Apple still has a long way to go to win the trophy.
The film critic, led by Netflix, received 61 nominations for its films and TV shows, of which 14 were nominated only for "Peter Dinklage" and "this is us", as well as Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. Other streaming services have also performed well, including Amazon Prime Video (14th), Hulu (7th) and CBS All Access (4th). Apple is a newcomer and there are obviously only a few programs behind it.
Apple will soon find out that other awards are also in the pipeline. The Golden Globe nominations will appear on the morning of December 9 (if you read on time, it will be tomorrow). If the "Morning Show" or other Apple TV shows are well received here, it may greatly boost confidence. If you go home empty-handed, it won't be the end, but it makes it clear that Apple must have a wide range of options to compete with streaming veterans at the awards party.
