Ipv6 has a total of three main root servers, which are set up in three countries, namely, China, the United States and Japan. A total of 4 ipv6 root servers have been deployed in China, including 1 main root and 3 secondary roots.
In addition to the 3 primary root servers, ipv6 has 22 secondary root servers. In addition to having 3 auxiliary roots in China, the other distributions are as follows: 2 auxiliary servers in the United States, 3 in India, 3 in France, 2 in Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Chile, South Africa and Australia.
The root server is responsible for the top-level domain name resolution of the Internet, which is called the "central nervous system" of the Internet. The root domain name server is the necessary infrastructure for building the Internet, and the root server is mainly used to manage the home directory of the Internet.
The root server stores the resolution of many domains. Although the root server does not have the specific information of each domain name, theoretically, when accessing each domain name, the browser will convert the domain name into a request corresponding to the IP address, and finally be guided by the root server to access the server where the domain name is located.
With the growth of the number of Internet access devices, the original ipv4 system has been unable to meet the demand, and IPv6 network protocol has begun to popularize all over the world.
