LG faces class action against G4 and V10 Bootloop
V10 users have joined LG G4 owners. LG released the V10 in October 2015, and the phone was affected by the same problem, causing the device to enter an endless startup cycle. In terms of hardware, V10 is similar to the G4, but with some minor differences, such as adding cameras and expanding storage.
Obviously, in order to allow users to choose to use microSD cards to extend 32 or 64GB memory to 256 GB LG, V10 is prone to the same problems that plague G4 devices.
According to ArsTechnica, after acknowledging that there was a problem with the G4 device, LG began to replace the defective phone with the new device, but the lawsuit alleges that LG continues to produce LG phones with bootloop defects.
According to the lawsuit, LG Electronics failed to recall or provide sufficient remedies to consumers. One user said that LG had replaced two of his G4 phones, while the third phone continued to freeze and showed the same signs of defects.
In addition, LG did not provide any remedies to the owners of the LG G4 phones, who were "unable to use them during the warranty period due to Bootloop defects". According to the lawsuit, the two phone models were not fully welded to the motherboard, making them unable to withstand heat. Before going through the startup cycle, the phone freezes, slows down, overheats, and restarts randomly. The lawsuit claimed that they finally failed completely.
The owners of the G4 and V10 who filed the lawsuit advocated unjust enrichment, unfair trading and violation of the warranty law. In addition to legal fees and costs, users are also seeking "pending damages". They also want LG to launch a program to fix all phones affected by bootloop defects.
