Cornerstone acquired Clustree because of its artificial intelligence-driven skill engine
British human capital management company (HCM) announced on Thursday that it will acquire French technology company Clustree, which has an artificial intelligence skills engine and a wide range of skills, the Daily Mail reported. Cornerstone investors paid $18.5 million in cash and the deal is expected to close this quarter.
Cornerstone plans to integrate Clustree's skills engine and skills ontology into several products that are part of its people Development solution. The premise is that Clustree's AI can help organizations better understand employees' skills, how they help employees develop new skills, and where they need to recruit.
The cornerstone of "human development" includes recruitment tools, performance management tools, as well as content and personalized learning tools to help highly skilled workers.
Founded in 2014, Clustree developed its own skills ontology by analyzing more than 1 billion job skills across multiple languages. From there, it has built a library with 53000 proven skills, which is said to accurately describe the personal data of any employee. Its customers include major brands such as Carrefour, the French food chain, and SNCF, the French state-owned railway company.
