Google has been busy redesigning the enterprise version of its app productivity suite, but this week the Internet giant put external software providers in the spotlight.

In updates to the Google App market, Google has begun to publish suggestions for third-party applications that integrate with Google Calendar, drivers and Gmail.

Rahul, general manager of Google work applications? Rahul Sood promised in its blog on Tuesday that all third-party applications recommended by search engines have passed performance and security reviews.

Soder boasts that more than 2 million companies have joined Google's work app. Although he did not specify a specific number, Sood boasted that business users had installed these applications "hundreds of millions of times".

Google is also tightening links in its portfolio, with a focus on apps supported by Android and Google games.
