The Philippine Telecommunications operators Association reminds the public to use the Internet responsibly because countless workers in the country work from home.

With the exponential growth of home users' network traffic, Internet service providers require customers to use connected applications and services with caution.

"as a result of government instructions to work from home, we expect Internet use to grow exponentially. At present, we have had enough capacity to invest in the network over the past few years, but because the Internet is a shared resource, we encourage customers to use the Internet responsibly and avoid other people who take up bandwidth and have a negative impact." PCTO requires customers to follow the following best practices to minimize network stress and ensure a high-quality customer experience:

Use landlines whenever possible to eliminate call traffic from the mobile network.

Download only emergency files. Other files should be downloaded during off-peak hours.

Heavy files should be transferred through shared services and as links rather than e-mail attachments.

Encourage the use of entertainment applications such as video streaming and games during off-peak hours.
