A new video comes from XDA developers resuming Android's upcoming interspace delivery sharing feature. It is called close sharing and can transfer photos and videos between devices. It shows one pixel 2XL and one pixel 4. At the same time, XDA also said that Samsung also plans to launch space delivery competitors.

Nearby sharing seems to have been baked into Android's Quick setup menu, which looks very effective when two devices are within a foot. The new video for this feature shows an unfinished product that seems to work well, even though it doesn't pass the demo. There seems to be no way to limit the visibility of the device, which means that people nearby can use this feature to send you files, which may be malicious.

Google has been playing with airdrop-style features for some time. For example, "intimate sharing" was first discovered last summer, and its brand name is "Fast sharing". There is also a NFC-based Android Beam, but it has been stopped. In addition, the Google Docs app does provide file sharing, but it is not a built-in feature for Android. Google is not the only company that has developed to deliver to competitors.

XDA developers report that Samsung is developing a file-sharing standard called Quick sharing. It is reported that the Samsung version will be launched together with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 phone. The screenshot shows that you can "share with people nearby immediately"-as long as they have Smart Things devices and quick sharing capabilities. Unlike close sharing, you can limit who sends files to contacts.

Quick sharing uploads your files to Samsung Cloud and then downloads them to the device, and the daily maximum big data limit is 2GB.

If it's on the same plane as the Galaxy S20, Samsung's Quick Share will debut on February 11th. There is no word on when Google's "intimate sharing" will arrive.
