Fitbit is now a Google company, but before that, it bought Doki Technologies, a Beijing-based company that makes smartwatches for children. Doki Technologies may attract the attention of Fitbit because its products are successful in the region and benefit from the technology it uses.

Engadget reported that after quietly acquiring Doki Technologies, Fitbit now plans to release a smartwatch for children who support 4G. Other details about wearables remain unclear, as both Doki and Fitbit have denied any comment.

The Doki Technologies is the world's first smartwatch for children with video calls. In addition, its latest smartwatch is equipped with a physical "Doki SIM" that provides unlimited data in more than 50 stores for $10 a month.

So if the company does plan to launch a children's smartwatch that supports 4G connections, Fitbit may borrow a lot from Doki Technologies. Google may be aware of Fitbit's acquisition. As there are reports that the company is developing such a device, we can safely assume that it will be used in children's smartwatches.
