How to enable a multimedia server in NAS?
Multimedia server is an application software based on DLNA protocol, which is used to realize multimedia sharing service between TNAS and other intelligent network devices. With Multimedia Server enabled, you can stream multimedia content from TNAS to DLNA/UPnP multimedia devices, such as smart TVs, game consoles, web players or audio systems. You can use the multimedia server's transcoding function to convert some potentially incompatible media formats into compatible formats.
1. Go to TOS Application Center to find multimedia server, click Install;
2. After installation, double-click the multimedia server icon on TOS desktop to open the application;
3. Select Enable Multimedia Server in the General option to set the shared folder of multimedia objects to be enabled (only multimedia files in the enabled folder can be recognized by DLNA/UPnP devices);
4. Set music display format in browsing format bar;
5. In the Format Compatibility option, check Enable Video Transcoder, Enable 4K Video Transcoding, Enable Real-time Transcoding;
6. Settings complete, click Apply.
You can now play multimedia files from TNAS on your mobile devices and smart TVs.
