CS8: the customer encounters multiple Server 2008 or Server 2008R2 server gateways that lose configuration for no reason
Customer Question Summary:
Many customers feedback that some servers will lose gateway configuration irregularly, causing network outages, and the root cause needs to be found.
Solution: After multiple system log analysis, it is found that gateway configuration loss occurs after server restart. After research and discussion, it is found that Server 2008 or Server 2008R2 loses gateway configuration more frequently in some virtualization environments, such as VMware Esxi.
The above problem can be solved by manually editing (or creating) the network card default gateway registry entry, as shown in the figure below. Editing or creating the corresponding network card (called Interfaces in the registry) can solve the problem. After editing, you need to restart the server to take effect.
